Quail Habitat at Black Creek Plantation
What passes for habitat at some plantations in Georgia is little more than old cow pastures with a few small pines. The habitat at Black Creek Plantation is constantly groomed for maximum wild quail
production with the hunters enjoyment in mind. The courses range from easy to difficult depending on the desires and abilities of the customer. During the summer season conservation crews manage the quail courses to
maximize the conditions favorable hunting conditions. Our conservation plan calls for continual habitat improvement to increase areas for escape cover, nest areas, water,
loafing and dusting areas. Controlled burning and mechcanical controls keeps briars, brambles, and second-growth trees from taking over. We constantly improve our network of
winding roads and trails so you will have access to more coveys .
We use an early release program coupled with “Johnny Houses” that allow quail exposure to the wild
while giving them food and water in a secure environment. The result are coveys that will flush together just as wild coveys do. In addition to these birds we also release birds prior to your hunt assure enough
action throughout the day.

but we need to know in advance.
