Dove Hunting at Black Creek

Dove Season Opens Sept. 2nd ! Do you have a field to shoot on yet?  Black Creek Plantation will again hold dove shoots throughout dove season. With over 60 acres divided between three fields, we will be able to have fresh shoots throughout the season. This year rain has come early and we have goods stands of millet, sunflowers and wheat.

All hunting will be from designated stands and there will be a minimum of 1.5 acres per hunter to assure a safe and pleasurable time for all. There will only be 40 stands available. Children under 16 can hunt from the same stand as a paying adult for free. You are encouraged to come take a look at the fields prior to the season to get an idea of flight patterns.

A 50% deposit will reserve you a stand. Stand selection will be based on when your deposit was paid. Opening day starts with a 12:00 noon Bar-B-Q, stand selection and safety meeting. Come early and shoot a couple of rounds of clays to get warmed up. Morning shoots will start at 6:30 am. NO ALCOHOL before or during the shoot.

There are overnight accommodations for 12 are available at the lodge but these fill up fast. The lodge is booked for Friday prior to the hunt on opening day. If you are in the area feel free to drop by. There are spots available for both Saturday night and Sunday night at the lodge.

Additional late season shoots are planned but depend on the amount of birds.
