Wild Hog Hunting at Black Creek Plantation

Looking for a little excitement ! Wild boar hunting is not for the faint of heart. The excitement of tracking wild boar through the bottom lands of Middle Georgia is sure to be considered an extreme sport. Wild hogs are a very challenging animal to hunt because they possesses keen senses of smelling and hearing. Wild boar are very muscular animal that relies on its speed, wits and brute force to evade hunters.
Boars use their sharp tusks to fight for breeding right. These powerful tusks are formidable weapons that sometimes reach five inches in length.

Hunting can be arranged to suit your desire. We offer stand hunting, hunting with dogs and still hunting.

Meals and lodging can be added to any hunt. Just let us know at the time of booking. Take a look at some of the hogs we have taken during the past year.

Stand Hunting or Still Hunting

You will be hunting free ranging wild hogs on over 1500 acres. Hunting is done from box and ladder stands in areas that the hogs have been using. Expect to see both sows and boars along with young hogs. You can take as many hogs as desired. A typical hunt takes place over two days in order to give the hunter a realistic opportunity to take a hog. Success rates are 50- 60%.

Wild Boar Hunting with Dogs

This is an option that is gaining in popularity for many reasons. It is by far the most exciting and effective way to hunt hogs. When hunting them with dogs, NO FIREARMS or BOWS allowed. Knives and rope only. Two guides go out with two hunters. Once they track dogs, normally curs, locate and bay a hog the catch dogs will go in and hold the hog for the hunters. At this point the hunters are running through the brush trying to get to the hog and dogs. Upon arriving the guides will talk you through the process of flipping the hog, gaining control and trying the hog up.  This type of hunt should be considered dangerous. Sometimes it will be a young 70 lb. boar, a 200 lb. sow with a bad attitude or a 300 lb. boar hog that will take everybody to flip and tie. We use this technique throughout the year with the exception of during firearms deer season. This is normally a morning hunt with stand hunting in the afternoon. Maximum of 2 people per guide with dogs. Success rate is 80-90 %
