Dove Hunting at Black Creek

Black Creek Plantation will again hold dove shoots throughout dove season. With over 70 acres divided between three fields, we will be able to have fresh shoots throughout the season. This year  we will be hunting over sorghum, millet and wheat.

All hunting will be from designated stands and there will be a minimum of 1.5 acres per hunter to assure a safe and pleasurable time for all. This year we have reduced the number of stands. There will only be 30 stands available. You are encouraged to come take a look at the fields prior to the season to get an idea of flight patterns. We plan on cutting the fields around Aug 10th

Children under 16 can hunt from the same stand as a paying adult for free. The cost is $175 per person.

Additional late season shoots are planned but depend on the amount of birds. For additional information are questions please feel free to call.

Payment is required in advance. Stand selection will be based upon receipt of payment with first choice going to the people that paid first. Opening day starts with a 11:30 safety meeting followed by stand selection. Hunters will be responsible for their own lunch. Come early and shoot a couple of rounds of clays to get warmed up. Morning shoots will start at 6:30 am. NO ALCOHOL before or during the shoot.

There are overnight accommodations are available at the lodge but these fill up fast. Cost is $100 per room.

A couple of things to keep in mind. Opening of day dove season is normally HOT. Please remember to bring plenty of sunscreen and water. Stands are placed with this in mind and shade is available at most stands. Hunters will be required to hunt from a designated stand to assure the safety of all hunters. Our hunt normally books up by Aug. 10th. If you desire to hunt with us please make your reservation early. We start taking reservations on July 1st. FAQ

Q: Can I bring my son/daughter ? A: Yes please do. Children under 16 can hunt from your stand at no additional cost. As I am sure you are aware it is hot on opening day so come prepared. Children MUST NOT be left at the lodge.

Q: Are dogs welcome on your dove fields? A: Yes. However they are your responsibility. Please keep your dog under control at all times.

Q: How many boxes of shells will I need? A: It is always better to have too many than not enough. 10 boxes should be more than enough.
